RE: Dead...
ocespress,
Have you ever added water to the batteries before? I ask because I keep my camper plugged in 24/7 whenever it is not in use. I check the 6V batteries in the spring and fall. They need about half a cup of water total at each inspection.
I have a three-stage charger. It sounds like your charger may be defective if you have been topping off the batteries yearly.

RE: Why Is My Air Conditioner Squawking?
I would go in the roof and look or have someone do that. A new unit should not have AC issues.
Well, it could be a thermal thing. Like something rotating is touching something when warmed up by the sun.

RE: Good, affordable place to set up for towing?
Bobndot, your write up above provided good advice.
I bought a used towbar years ago and still use it. I have always bought the baseplate (3 times) and had the local autobody repair shop install them. On every towed car I have had the local auto repair shop install the wires for magnetic mount tail lights and breakaway wires for my Brake Buddy.
I will say, if I were to buy a new towbar. It would be one of those advertised with surge braking. They sound much simpler to use.
I do not think setting up each car was close to $1500.

RE: House Battery charging
I had a 2003 TT that had most likely the battery charger that is in your 2006/5 unit. I say that because it would boil the water out of the batteries as you described. Dang… The solution is a plug-in gadget on your current charger that makes the charger into a three tier charger that will never hurt the batteries by overcharging. Boiling off the water. It worked very well with golf cart batteries.
Come on you older folks, what is the name of that gadget?
